Bittersweet...

So, as you can all see, neither Shelley or myself have posted anything in quite a long time... life hs been busy for all of us... mainly myself, I took a job offshore and haven't seen Switch, (Matthew, Matt, Chase, or whatever you choose to call him, but he's Matthew or Switch to me!) in a very long time, almost 3 months come next week. Oh well, that's life, as far as I know he's doing alright? Don't hear from his mom much, we aren't together and never will be in that way, but we will hopefully one day at least be civil? Well that's all I can say for now, if anyone hears from her about Switch, let me know how he's doing please...

We started Chase on a sippie cup today. He has to get use to the heavier flow, but he has done pretty good on it o far. He rolled from his back to his stomach for the first time last week. I got it on video & posted it on youtube. Here is the direct link:

We hope everyone is doing well. We love & miss you all.

Few pictures

Switch is getting sooooo big!! He is 5 months & 2 days old and is learning more and more things everyday. He recognizes his name when you call him & he knows who to look at when you ask him "where's Moma" & "where's Pawpaw". We are working on the rest of the family members...lol. Pawpaw is gone on a business trip so I wanted to upload a few pictures for him to see. Hope everyone is doing well. I will post more when I have it :)

Busy.....

I just got back to the house after a week long visit in Baton Rouge. Switch had a good time visiting everyone. Blake took us to visit with his Mamaw & Papaw on Saturday. On Sunday, we all went to church and then we drove to see Papa Jack and Mimi Mel (Blake's Dad and his fiance). It was their first time to visit with Switch and I am so happy it finally got to happen. He had a good time talking to Mimi Mel for almost an hour (the most babbeling he has ever done) and floating around in the pool. I have pictures to post and videos to share on youtube, but I am so very tired. It took over 12 hours to get home today because Switch and I took a side trip to Greenwood. He got to visit with Marcy, Jason, & Big Lance (my friends from MDCC). He also got to visit with his Aunt Tara this morning and was able to give her a gift for Braxton (Tara & Jeremy's 2nd due in Aug). Just wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know what we have been up to. I will post more tomorrow after I get some sleep. Love to all!!!

9:00 pm, bedtimemidnight, time for medicine6:00 am, medicine time
Switch has this funny little thing he does when he sleeps. He starts out with his head at the head of the crib and progressively, through the night, he wiggles his way down with his head at the foot of the bed. It's pretty cute so I had t post some pics :) Love to all....and yes, he does sleep through the night!!!

Messy dinner

Just wanted to post some pictures from Switch's dinner tonight. He did very well with his veggies today. I couldn't get him to eat any vegetables yesterday, but he had a whole jar of sweet potatoes and carrots today. He did have some prunes yesterday which made for a big smelly poopie mess today..haha!! I even gave him a little vanilla pudding treat for eating so well today (just 4 small spoon fulls...and he got MAD when I took it away). Until next time...love to all :)

Bananas & Carrots & Pears....OH MY

Switch is doing so good without his tube! He took to a bottle like he had been taking one since the day he was born. I gave him a few days on just the bottle before adding cereal and I started it slowly. Two weeks later he is eating some baby food! I have some videos to post on YouTube when I get a chance. He loves carrots, bananas, pears, peaches, apple sauce, and sweet potatoes, but HATES peas and squash. Of course he likes the sweet stuff, but I tried dipping the spoon full of squash in the bananas and it tricked him long enough to get half of the jar of squash down...until he figured it out. We'll try peas and squash again later. I bought him a little swimming pool and a float for the big swimming pool and he loves them both. We were in GA this weekend for a funeral and decided to go for a swim. I have videos of those to post as well....when I get a chance :) I have plenty of time, but it takes forever for a video to download. Switch now weighs 10lbs 8oz and is 21 3/4 inches long. He is still under weight, but now that he is taking a bottle he should plump up pretty fast. The doctor still has me adding calories to his feedings, but he spits up when I give him the 27 cal formula, which to me seems useless!!! He is waking up from a nap so I am going to wrap this up. Love to all!!!

Neglected

His onsie says "TUGGING", to cute!! (Daddy works on a tug boat) Chillaxin

Jaden & Bryce (Matthew's cousins) Uncle Jeremy Matthew, Molly, & Jared Uncle Beau So....the tube is out! Mom and Dad made a decision to take a chance. He went for his swallow study and everything looked good, except that the tube was irritating a muscle at the base of his throat. He's been doing very well. No choking and no coughing :) He loves it!! Switch is getting so big! I can hardly believe that he is almost 4 months old! He has even grown out of some of his 0-3 month stuff. We go to the GI doctor in Jackson on June 25 and then his 4 month check up on the 29th. We're excited that Dad will be in town for both of those!! Last weekend we went to Brookhaven for Bryce's, Switch's cousin, birthday and had a blast. My Mom and Dad went and got to visit with Ms. Debbie, Chuck, Beau, and Jeremy. My Dad hadn't seen them in about 12 years or so. He wasn't excited going down there and I am sure he wished he didn't agree to go, but when we got there and got there started visiting with old friends he was so happy! The only people missing were my brother and Blake, but I hope there will be more times when we can all get together. I will update again soon, but until then thanks for visiting "Life with Switch". Much love to all!!

Quick Post

MORE VIDEOS ON YOU TUBE!! I am also in the process of downloading more. I have a few pictures to put on here, but I can't find my camera at the moment....hmmm...just of the many things I have lost, along with my mind..LOL.

We had a GREAT visit with Dad this past week. We hate when he has to leave, but we look forward to the next visit!! Just wanted to get on here real quick to let everyone know that Switch has a swallow study tomorrow. HOPEFULLY, he will pass and we can get rid of this stupid tube!! I will post tomorrow when I find out the results. I guess there will be a plan of action if he fails this test so I will find out about that when he has his check up with the pediatrician. We got a lot accomplished at the visit today. Dad was finally able to go to a doctor's appointment and we scheduled his 4 month check up for when he comes into town next time :) Daddy may have to take him by himself so he can comfort his little man after these shots!! Everyone say a little prayer for our little guy in hopes that he will pass this test tomorrow!! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Much love to all!

More videos on YOUTUBE!!

Switch rolled over today!!! Dad missed it, but so did Mom because she was being lazy and taking a nap...booooo!!! I guess I learned my lesson about sleeping my life away. Switch is getting so big and so much more active. He was playing on his play mat tonight and kicking his legs and grabbing at everything :) He is usually over he play mat after about 20 minutes, but tonight he played for about two hours.....YAY, mommy and paw paw wore him out. LOL! He is sleeping peacefully now. I am completely in love with this little guy! I have a busy day tomorrow so I am going to bed. Remember to check out the new videos of Switch trying to roll over and on his play mat on youtube....see the post below for the link :) Love to all!!

Proud DaddyThey sleep the same :)Happy to have us as parents!!
Watching "So You Think You Can Dance" with Mommy :)Switch's Great GrannySwitch's Great Aunt DonnaProud Mommy :)Switch's Great Great Aunt DeloresSorry it's been so long!! Things have been going so well and we've just been so busy being parents. It's been hard to find the time to blog anymore. Right after I got home from Baton Rouge, my Granny and Aunt came into town from Tampa as well as my Aunt Delores, from Georgia. We had a wonderful visit and I can assure you that Switch is even more rotten than when he started out! We had a small celebration for his "3 month birthday". He did rack up on some new outfits for the summer! Our little boy is so very loved. Switch has started to lift his head and he no weighs 9lbs. He is also FINALLY out of his newborn clothes and into a 0-3 month size!! YAAAAAY!!! Mom and Dad are quite proud of our son. Daddy bought Switch a play mat and he love it, until you put him on his tummy that is....he still hates tummy time! He loves to kick and grab at all the little toys that hang over his head and feet. It's amazing to watch them grow and start to do new things. He has giggled in his sleep once, but I can't seem to get him to do it while he is awake. I am going to keep the post short because I have lots of pictures to post. Hopefully, I'll be better with my time management skills and try to keep posting....at least once a week :) Much love to all. And to all those that are keeping us in your prayers, THANK YOU!!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!

Getting to know one another. Jaden and Switch. The only picture I could get of them atleast facing the camera.A smile only an older cousin can produce :)
I had an amazing mothers day with Switch and Blake!! Many thanks to Blake for making it so memorable! My Mom and Dad helped Switch pick out his gift to me. He gave a lovely necklace. Blake gave me a digital video camera so that I can post videos on youtube....guess I have no more excuses for not getting to it because it is so easy with this camera. All I have to do is plug it in and press the "youtube" button and it automatically downloads. It's an HD and the picture quality is amazing! You'll see!! I'll let you know when I get something else downloaded. Switch and myself left from MS very early this morning to get to Baton Rouge by 7:00 this morning! Our trip was so good and I am quite thankful for having a son that travels so well! We'll be here for a week and a half...or until we overstay our welcome..lol! Switch got to meet his Uncle Beau, Blake's brother, and his cousins Jaden and Zachary. Jaden can get Switch to smile on cue (something noone has been able figure out). Switch also got to meet his Nana D, Blake's Mom. We all spent this Mothers Day together. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy mothers day, even if it is almost over!
Much love to all,

Daddy did good!

Switch absolutely HATES bath time!! I have to make myself bathe him ever other day. It just about broke Blake's heart to have to give him a bath! So Dad found this thing called a tummy tub. They are made in Britain and cost about $50.00 bucks, but Mom, being a bargain shopper, found one exactly like it at Target for $22.00!! Dad o.k.'d the order and Switch has enjoyed bath time ever since! I have bragged about the tub and apparently it has been on Good Morning America and some other shows, but they are awesome! The one at Target s called the Prince Lion heart Pod Tub. They are suppose to mimic the womb in they way the child sits in the tub and warm water...IT ROCKS!! I posted a video of bath time on youtube and this was honestly the first bath that wasn't rushed.

Nila and Switch It's been a minute...sorry about that! We just got back from Atlanta where Switch had his 2 month check up as well as his check up with the cardiologist. Everyone said that he's looking good. He is staying on his heart medicine and we don't have to go back to the cardiologist for 2 months. At the pediatrician, he got his first set of shots. Not the first time he's been stuck, obviously, but it still broke his mommas heart!! It didn't take much to get him calmed down, just a little snuggle time with Mommy. He now weighs 8lbs and is 21 1/2 inches long. His doctor said that he is still off his growth charts, but I just think it's going to take some time...he had surgery on his heart and diaphragm for pete's sake!!! Switch and I are leaving early Sunday morning to visit Blake in Baton Rouge and we're so looking forward to it. That's all I have for now so I am going to get my little guy to bed. Love to all!!
